....................* * Our Home Video Collection * *

Two years ago (June 2003) we got our first video camera. We shot some footage, made a couple of videos, and then we waited about a year before we uploaded anything else to the computer. (Isn't that the way it is with a lot of new things?) Anyway, we finally opened up our editing studio again and organized some of the waiting footage into some new videos. Meanwhile, we wanted to make some changes to the original videos, but we either didn't have all the original project components or we had saved them in an unworkable format. So some older videos may not be online until we finish the restoration procedure.

Sometimes ambition runs high, like our thought to work our way through the entire Rhyme Bible, but we realize that one chapter may be all that is ever produced. Likewise with some other projects, but as time is available, we will post our accomplishments here for you to enjoy.

There are many subtle aspects to find in the productions, and as with any film you will discover more with each viewing. Have fun!

Grace Chapel Outreach to Ensenada, Mexico

Joel's first overnight missionary journey is documented on this video. Just before his sixth birthday, he went with our church and students from Calvary Chapel Bible College into Mexico to minister to the poor in Ensenada.

As a group, our church goes into various locations in Mexico every month or two, loaded with clothes, toys, candy, tracts, and Bibles. We set up camp, preach the Word, and give away tons of stuff. This time we visited Pastor Fidencio's church, whom we have supported over the years, including helping him build a new home across the street from the church building.

Our favorite part is watching Joel struggle with a duffel bag that weighs more than he does. Watch out--the ending may grab your heartstrings.

The Birth Video of our third son, Jesse

This is the first time we recorded the birth of any of our children. It is so exciting having a video to look back on.

The actual moment of delivery is absolutely amazing to watch (and incredulous to watch backwards)--but you won't see any of that here on this video...
This is the clean version, suitable for general audiences. Maybe in the future we'll provide a way for selected females to view the uncensored version.

You'll want to turn up your volume. This video is mostly about the labor--waiting for God's timing to bring Jesse into the outside world. It's emotionally evocative. We both teared up the first time we added music to the rough draft version.

The Rhyme Bible: Chapter 1 (Genesis 1-2)

We've had it in mind for a while to involve the kids (at least Joel for now) in a video project which would be fun for them to act in and, at the same time, saturate them with the Bible.

On a Saturday night we had Joel recite the pages which were to be the main audio track. Then by Sunday we (including Joel) had shot all the video footage on location at our house. (It was Joel's first time behind the camera). A few more hours of editing and we were done.
Hopefully there will be more chapters to come!

The background music is the classic pastoral piece Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Opus 46, Mvt. 1 "Morning Mood" composed by Edvard H. Grieg.

The second GazFam musical montage

Compiled from nearly a year's worth of footage which had sat collecting in our camcorder, you'll see Jared age quite a bit in this video.
This video is a bit more light-hearted than the first musical production, "First Hours," and we laugh every time during the bloopers which run in the second half.

One of the obvious improvements over "First Hours" is that we've started to learn some of the camera controls. Note the word "some." We've also realized that the camera just doesn't take very good pictures inside.

The background jazz music is from the 1997 Album "Swing" by The Manhattan Transfer.

The Tall Tower

The Tall Tower

The suspenseful collapse of an eight-foot Lego tower

This is our favorite "short." We watch it over and over and yell "WHOOOA!!" every time...

One the amazing things about this video is that the production went together with practically no effort.
There is only one 'break' in the entire clip--the rest of the time the camera just rolled.
After the filming, we thought of the music, and after we overdubbed it, we realized that it was finished...every aspect just seemed to synch perfectly.

The background music is Also sprach Zarathustra (Thus spake Zarathustra) composed by Richard Strauss in 1896, made popular by the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
