Mom's Favorite Websites
Take a moment to browse through some of my favorite websites (does it look like I spend too much time online??? *grin* But only when the boys are sleeping).
Christian Living
Above Rubies--Godly encouragement for mothers. They offer a free magazine which has been one of the best encouragements to me as a mother.
Biblical Modesty--A long article to challenge you.
Children Of God For Life--A Catholic site about the vaccines that are derived from aborted babies. You can order free pamphlets to take to your pediatrician.
Hannah Lise--A mail-order site that sells only modest (ie. long, with no slits) skirts and dresses for women and girls. They have great customer service. You'll appreciate this site after reading the Biblical Modesty article and the Ladies Against Feminism site. :-)
Ladies Against Feminism--Prepare to be challenged . . . or infuriated! Lots of articles.
Titus2.com--A friend shared the resources from this site with me, and they have literally CHANGED MY LIFE! I highly recommend the books Managers Of Their Homes and Keeping Our Children's Hearts.
Unless The Lord--A (great) magazine for Christian parents.
Birth, Breastfeeding &Babies
The Bradley Method--Probably the best method for achieving a truly natural birth. It really works! (I know of a wonderful instructor to recommend if you're interested)
Christian Midwife Homebirth Services--Our favorite midwife!!! One of my favorite things is that she will pray with you at each prenatal appointment and during the birth. She is also very capable and experienced, but trusts in God for each birth. We highly recommend her.
Expressiva--My favorite breastfeeding clothes.
Lactational Amenorrhea--Lots of great resources if you want to learn more about postponing the return of your menstruation after birth.
QuiverFull--Children are a blessing from God. Therefore it follows that many children mean many blessings from God!
Why Breastfeeding Is Best--Lots of great resources for breastfeeding!
Health, Nutrition & Cooking
Be Wise Ranch--They provide amazingly fresh and delicious organic produce to local drop-off points.
Gem Cultures--Where to buy curds to make your own kefir (as well as other interesting stuff).
Kefir--WOW! Everything you've ever wanted to know about making kefir.
Kefir-Cheese--Double WOW! Everything you've ever wanted to know about making cheese from kefir.
Organic Pastures Dairy Farm--I love their products! Each of their cows has a name, not a number.
Price-Pottenger Nutritional Foundation--Great information on nutrition. They support traditional diets--no low-fat, low-carb stuff here!
Weston A. Price Foundation--I have this linked to their page on children's health. They have a recipe for making your own formula!
Wright's Poultry--Simply the best meat: free-range, no hormones, antibiotics, or steroids. And delicious!
Cloth Diapers, Alternative Birth Control & Menstrual Products
Baby N More--I recently found this site and they have some great stuff.
California Babestuff--The best source for our daily diapers and fantastic customer service.
Keeper Menstrual Cup--The safe and healthy alternative to disposable products. It really works!
Luke's Drawers--Carolyn makes the best snap diapers. And they're so cute too!
Taking Charge Of Your Fertility--Information every woman and husband should know. This is stuff I wish I'd learned in junior high (the info on a woman's menstrual cycle, I mean...)!
WeeBees--The best information on cloth diapering I've ever seen. Click on their Our Diapering Experiences link.
Sewing
Elizabeth Lee Designs--This company is very dear to my heart! You can sew your own nursing-accessible clothing from her patterns.
fabric.com--DON'T sign up for their e-mail notices if you have trouble going into a fabric store and "just browsing"...
Nursing Mothers Sewing List--I already knew how to sew but I have learned SO MUCH from this list! Go here to join.
Sense & Sensibility Patterns--She has the best apron pattern.
sewbaby.com--They have great patterns and the cutest fabric!
Gardening
Geraniums--I love geraniums! (I've never ordered from this company, but the flowers are gorgeous)
Heirloom Seeds--I love heirloom vegetables and flowers and they have a lot of variety. I've had very good success with their seeds.
Square Foot Gardening--This book (and site) changed my gardening approach, and I highly recommend it!
Scrapbooking
Simple Scrapbooks Magazine--My favorite scrapbook magazine. They don't emphasize brads and twilling and twine and buttons and other stuff that clutters up your scrapbook pages.
